Date of Stay:  May 25th ~ 4 nights

Favorite Sites: We stayed on 25 ~ not level and horrible power ~ we couldn't run everything!

Weather During Stay: Weather was very warm ~ nice!

Phone/TV/Internet: We couldn't get Satellite with our Direct Roof Top antenna but they had cable with all the major networks. Both Verizon & AT&T phones worked fine and the Verizon Mi-fi Internet card worked on 3G.

Elevation/Landscape: Hills and rolling farmlands ~ beautiful country

Lighting/Noise: No noise other the birds and the lighting was OK... not overly bright.

Hiking/Walking/Biking: Fairly OK roads for walking but very hilly

Things to See & Do: PA Dutch Country, Strasburg Railroad and Museum, Small quaint towns, Shady Maple Smorgasbord and Market (highly recommended)

Rating: (6.5) We were caught short on a holiday weekend and needed a place to stay ~ everywhere we called was booked up solid. Finally we called Country Haven and they had 2 sites left so we quickly booked one after asking key questions like are the level and do you have 50 amp. Well the sites that were left were 30 but we knew we could get away with that since it hadn't been too hot. Then we read the reviews ~ Go there first before you book. (Click here for reviews) They say dogs can stay but when you get there they tell you don't let them bark at all.  Really???  All dogs bark don't they?  I was scared after we read them but we didn't have any problems... except the sites were not level (at all) and the voltage was really really bad.

Artillery Ridge Campground Resort ~ Gettysburg, Pa

Description:  OK ~ I am not a hard person to please... When I call for reservations I ask for a few things ~ that is if I am traveling with friends or meet up with someone I know we'd like to park together and we would like to be able to receive Satellite TV if you don't have cable in the park.  This is what I asked for when we made our reservations at Artillery Ridge RV park.  The lady who was at the front desk started out defensive since she knew we wanted 2 sites together and wanted to get satellite... she blamed it on the help there and when I said it wouldn't work for us since the sites were very unlevel too she said she had some sites in the back we could be happy with... well we weren't.  Yes we could get satellite but the sites were so unlevel our coach wouldn't level out... right across the street were sites that had gravel and were somewhat level.  Now there were sites up front that were nicer but she told us they were not available however no one ever went in them... We were in the back right near all the horses in water soaked sites...  after asking not to be near the horses since my husband has allergies to Horse fly stings.  We still had fun and enjoyed our time in Gettysburg but if I ever come back we will NOT be staying in this park.  I am sure some people have stayed here and liked it but the woman's nasty attitude did me in.  There were others who worked there that were a lot more friendly. You may like it... On a positive note they are really close to the battlefields and town.

    Date of Stay:  May 8th, 2012 ~ 4 nights

Weather During Stay: Mostly rain and cool

Favorite Sites: We stayed on site 405 and it was OK... 406 was better but we were way in the back of the park

Rate: $31.28 with Passport & Good Sam

Phone/TV/Internet: Both AT&T and Verizon worked well.  No cable TV but we did finally get a site where we had good satellite with roof dish (Direct TV)

Elevation/Landscape:  Uneven sites & trees.  It was part of the battlefield and that was very interesting

Lighting/Noise:  It was definitely quiet and dark in the back and we did sleep very well.

Hiking/Walking/Biking:  You could walk around the park and visit all the horses.  Also the town and Battlefield are an excellent place to get out and walk.

Things to See & Do:  There are many things to see and do while in this area.  The Gettysburg National Battlefield is the main attraction but also Dwight D. Eisenhower's home & farm are also here.  Plus many other related sites ~ click here to find out more.  While you are here definitely go to the 235 year old Dobbin House & Tavern for their famous Onion Soup.  You will not be disappointed

Rating: (5)  I would not stay here again ~ there are many RV Parks in this area and I would try another.  It may have been the rough start with the lady at the desk but I would never come back here.  There were a lot of tents here and permanent people.

Cherry Hill RV Park ~ College Park, Maryland (DC)

Description:  This is a very good and well managed RV campground.  The staff in the front office are very friendly & helpful.  The park is maintained beautifully and in fact, probably one of the best we have ever stayed in.  The campground has just about everything you can think of including a restaurant on site that you will get a 20% coupon for when you check in.  If you purchase a Cherry Hill cup at the Grill you get free refills for your entire stay.  It is also very kid-friendly! It was the perfect location to visit Washington DC. The bus picks you up and takes you to a Metro depot for a short ride into DC.  Every day they have a 1 hour training session for newcomers on how to see the sights at the least cost. It was great!  Access to the DC metro is great and easy once you get use to it.  Tours from the campground are convenient. The pools (one heated) are some of the nicest we have seen. The cafe offers a wide variety of items. Gift shop and RV supply stores are well supplied.  You do hear highway noise and sites are smaller, but we expected this being so close to DC. They offer 10% discount for Good Sam, AAA and a few other clubs.

Date of Stay:  April 28th, 2012 for 10 days
Weather During Stay: Some rain, some cool and some warm!

Favorite Sites: We stayed on site 208 and we had plenty of room. We had a patio premium site with brick patio/picnic table/ patio furniture/grill. Sites are gravel with wood boarder.  There are many sites that are close but that is to be expected some since it is in a city and close to DC.  They all are pretty nice.

Rate:  Rates very on your style of site.  We had a premium site and it was $63 a night with Good Sam. They also honor several other club cards.

Phone/TV/Internet:  Everything worked great here ~ Verizon and AT&T phones were good, Direct TV top satellite came in great and they had cable TV.

Elevation/Landscape:   A little hilly but our site was level... the first site we went to we couldn't level on but after we moved to another site no problems what so ever.

Lighting/Noise:  Campground streetlights and noise from the highway!

Hiking/Walking/Biking:  Nice hiking trail through the woods not to mention you'll be walking like crazy in DC.
Things to See & Do:  You're near DC ~ there is a ton of things to see & do!!!

Rating: (9.5) Noise was the reason for not getting a perfect 10.... This park was fabulous and the noise didn't keep me up at night.
